Alphabet books are an important part of learning how to read and write. Think about it, these might be the first English book your students are ever seeing! You have the honor of teaching them how to read, an alphabet book is perfect to begin with.

My adorable alphabet books can be printed in color or black-and-white. Beginning consonants are colored blue and vowels are colored red to help students see the difference in the letter types.

To get the most out of this book, teach your students to read and point by capital letter, lowercase letter, sound, word. For example, "Z - z - zzzz - zipper." When you teach students to read it this way, they acquire a whole slew of skills to help with future reading (one-to-one pointing, noticing letters while pointing, matching letter names to letter sounds, using pictures to decode words when they forget, etc.)

As an alternative to a book, you can also use these as flashcards or coloring sheets for a literacy center or to help when assessing letter ID with students.

You can download this cute set will be in my TpT Store HERE. Be sure to get my matching alphabet charts and posters, too. .
